I just can't get the sub bass to come out and play, no matter what amp or dac I use. I'm not even a bass head but I like a bit of sub bass in my metal.

Really? What tips have you been using? I definitely have zero issue with the sub on mine.

Caveat: I'm apparently the luckiest man in the world with IEMs because I have never had a single issue with any IEMs getting a good fit and seal. Like my ear canals must match what every company uses for their design model.

P1s respond bass better with more power and balanced.  with balanced cable out of Pono or PH3 they sing with bass authority

and clarity.  Dynamic drivers often do this, and P1s especially...

As the doctor says the P-1 does really kick it up a notch with good amplification but I get plenty of all bass ranges with my M2 on them:wink_face:

Will shure cables work on these?

Certainly will. I'm using a few aftermarket ones right now.

BTW, not to say it again, but if you're interested in a bluetooth solution, these seriously are the bee's knees.

Most of the time i've been lucky also as long as i avoid silicone tips.I'm currently using earphone solutions foam L size with no issues.

😀. Verdict: Love them. Rolled tips found out for me (pre burn in) that I preffer yellow core Trinity-type silicones on them best for Bass response. These are a serious sound quality IEM. Everything everyone says. They won't work for bass or trebleheads, nicely balanced with great presentation. Had a scare I thought for a bit I wasn't going to have enough power with my Good set up. Found out I had the Class A mode in low voltage.... Duh. Got plenty of juice now.

They are on the burner.

I personally think they are for "true" trebleheads, I just didn't expect them to be this smooth, textured, and heavily detailed. The sub-200$ is pretty competitive...

Funny, I'm treble sensitive and I don't find these overly bright at all. Good treble but rolled off before offensivness. JMO

I am kind of treble sensitive too and these don't bother me. I find them a little light on bass, but I just boost the bass for them on my Q1 or using the EQ on my Pioneer DAP.  They do want extra power.

@TwinACStacks - How would you compare these to the K3?
