Just thought to post this amazing gif here (also posted in the Onkyo DP-X1 thread first):

I am stunned. I knew that he had heart issues. He had a heart attack not long after I saw him in Hershey, Pennsylvania on the "Reality" tour. I was not aware that he had cancer. I just listened to and ordered "Blackstar" yesterday. I didn't love it on first listen, but Bowie was one of those artists where I bought his newest album whether I liked it or not. I always figured that I would grow to like his newest music, and I always did. I always looked forward to the next "ch-ch-change." I saw David Bowie eight times. I will really miss him. Thank you for the animated graphic above. I am stunned. The musical world has been diminished. RIP Mr. Bowie, you were an original, many times over and I loved you...

No problem dude.

You are lucky to see him live; I have now lost such an opportunity.

His music takes a while to enjoy but when it clicks...mesmerising is the apt word here (amongst others).

I was holding off listening to The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders of Mars vinyl rip (24 bit/96 kHz) that I have, and Blackstar via TIDAL, till I received my Onkyo DP-X1.
However I'll be listening to Blackstar through Tidal via Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and CEntrance HiFi-M8 (with AKG K 712 and SubPac S2) alongside BBC Radio 6 today.

When I first heard the news I did a speedy bit of Googling before I realised I had a few tears running down my cheeks; very sad.

A great Legend!

Wept in bed this morning when I heard. Thanks for everything, David.

First Lemmy, then Bowie. These last couple of weeks have sucked big time.

Sigh. I haven't actually cried when some artist I loved died since Joey Ramone left us, but this morning I looked so distressed when I walked through the reception at work that our receptionist asked 'My God, did somebody die?'

I'll miss you, David.

Bowie has been an acquired taste for me throughout my life.  Every year or two, another one of his past albums "Clicks" for me.  I was lucky enough to see him in concert in 1995.

VH1 Classic celebrated the "Blackstar" release on Friday with a David Bowie marathon.  I caught the concert film "Ziggy Stardust" and then the VH1 Story Tellers concert.  I listened to "Blackstar" all weekend and really like it.  It inspired me to listen to some of his back catalog as well.  It was truly a David Bowie weekend for me.

To find out this morning that he passed was just shocking.  It's really hit me hard.  His last 2 albums have been very strong.  We've not only lost a legend and an icon, but also an artist that was currently producing high quality work.  To know that he was terminally ill when he created "Blackstar" adds further depth and meaning to it.

He will be very much missed but leaves us with an amazing body of work to appreciate.  My thoughts go out to his family and those that knew him best.

One flash of light but no smoking pistol.

And he was gone.

The legend he leaves for a lot of us is not in the Uberstardom. More in the manner that while larger bands were filling the rock charts with number one hits He Created persona's and genres at a rate incomprehensible even now. The manner in which he ascended to become such a force within the music industry itself is the true magic behind Bowie.

Goodbye David. After all, Death is just another change.

Stunned......I did not know he was sick at all. And just realesing a new album too.  I am lucky to have seen him at Giants Stadium during his greatest hits tour and his last USA concert.  He said this tour would be the last time he played his greatest hits music.

Here's a gem I found......as unlikely a duo as you can imagine!     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADbJLo4x-tk
