I ordered this combo from the Schiit website. I wonder if I live in California how long does it take for they to deliver these units? How long did you guys take yours to arrive at your home? Thanks.

I'll post a review when I get them.

I Remember hearing 1-2 weeks but I forgot where I heard it from. And yes more review would be nice!

Wow! That's a long time! Specially that I live a few miles away from them.  I'm in Los Angeles, close to down town and they are in Valencia, CA.

Definitely, you guys will hear my first impressions of this amp's sound, the HD650 and DIY Cardas cable that I built a few months ago.

Mmmm, I'm very excited! I ordered them on Friday afternoon, I got the tracking number yesterday Monday morning, but Fedex info showed until today Tuesday morning informing that my package is on their delivery truck and will be delivered it to my house by the end of the day! Not bad, not bad!

Well, the Valhalla 2 & Modi2 combo arrived yesterday about 2:00pm just fine. I'm very impressed with the product.

Definitely, Schiit people are great, very easy transaction, fast delivery, very good packaging and the more important thing, a very good product.

I unpacked the units, I did the connections, hook up the HD650 with the Cardas cable and I was over joyed with the sound. Exceeded my expectations.

The combo is dead quieted, not noise at all when there is no music on the line even a full volume. No noise on quiet music passages.  This is amazing!

I turned it on about 4:30pm and turned it off about 11:00pm. I let it warm for 2 hrs. and started my serious listening of some of my well known and well recorded songs.

Steely Dan, Diana Krall, Crusaders, 24bit/96kHz Vinyl rips.  I have so many other great recordings that I have to listen to with this setup.

Bass is very discerning and articulate, I could follow the bass notes

Big drum is fast, deep, controlled but not over shuttles the mid range, voices or lead instruments

The other drums are silky and well tuned

Cymbals have great extension and timing, no brightness

Cow bell sounds so big and live

Backgrounds can be heard with immediacy and presence.  There are some sounds that I have never heard before with the HD650 and now I clearly hear them.

Well, the list goes on as I notice more stuff than I did not listen before. Kind of "I was deaf and now I can hear again"

The last listening hrs. were just amazing! This told me that the more time is hot and stabled the better!

This amp makes me remember the SinglePower MPX3 that I enjoyed long time ago.

Make sure that the amp is installed in a well ventilated area and that is lifted a little bit from the table so air may flow because it gets hot. (Don't put it on your bed! Tubes are like barbecue coals that cook your music, ha, ha, ha. No solid state amp can do this).

Make sure it is very warm and stable before doing some serious listening.  Well, it is the rule of thumb for tube gear.

I'm really enjoying this combo. I was using a $1.00 printer USB cable. I already got a better USB cable, the AudioQuest Forest and I really like the improvements, much better imaging, vocals are dead centered, better backgrounds, better bass drum with a nice slam, better other drums sound, silky and well tuned, cymbals have better extension and expansion, piano notes have better decay, etc.

I'm putting my eyes on the Yggdrasil DAC with the AudioQuest Diamond USB cable. If this little Valhalla 2 and Modi 2 combo is showing some good sound a more refined DAC and USB cable has to sound much better.

I may digitize more LPs @ 24Bit/96kHZ. I'll give a try some time.
