so will someone please explain the dynamics of this? does anyone know for sure that someone could possibly sell for <$250 and still make a profit? There's no way they're going to sell below profit, and a cursory glance at most sites shows that the prices hover in the high 300s. That would mean that they would have to make at LEAST 100 dollars profit off of the cd3000s per sale. hmmmm...sounds kinda high.

AAARRRRGGGHHH!!!! I just bought my CD3Ks for $400+ (w/ ultra quick shipping) a couple weeks ago!!!

I secretly hope this whole thing falls through....

CD3000 MSRP is $699.95 and buy.com lists them for $379.98 but they also have a link for volume purchase available of over $5000. I would be surprised if it is for less than $350 each but it's worth a try to find out from them.

No, probably there would be no profits, if is one of us who organize it, that's the main reason, to take out the middle man that rips us off...LOL...And yes, in that case, the profit is justified to a certain limit, as those guys are investing their money, not ours, so, I agree to give a margin, but given that the one in charge is using our money, to get them, why the profit, for making a few phone calls????

Maybe someone tell them we're up for $5000+. I'm quite anxious to see their limits on the price......
(I may sound enthusiastic, but in all truth I'm holding a lot of doubt in this...)

i'm with lojay. i mean, i've seen extreme bargaining, but that really only occurs when there's a precedent set for something... well. i'm still in! someone get to the phone calling. (I'd love to, but I'm not in the US at the moment)

So you're planning a group buy and you're making a list of people ... but it's all based around on a "business person" who doesn't exist yet and a company that would have to be created? Maybe I've misread the thread or something, but aren't you taking the first (and hardest) steps last?

IMO you need an amount of potential buyers first, in order to know what to ask for, and discuss the price later....it won't be the same price for 10 than for 100....I do not think they will offer you a list with prices and amounts....

Why doesn't someone volunteer to storm the factory in which they're made and steal a bunch of them? That would be just as likely to work as this "fake business" idiocy and in the end, a lot cheaper.
