Everything sold. Thanks for looking.

Up for sale are 3 Sony vintage pcdps. There should be plenty of information on these players in the forums. My personal opinion is that the D-311 has the best line out and has the superior build and style quality; the D-211 has the best price-performance ratio and a headphone out that equals the D-311's; the D-777 has a warmer sound. PLease let me know if you need further information on these players. On a note: all 3 players come with the original remote control and earbuds but all earbuds have been used and are not recommended for further use.

Sony D-777

This was an anniversary model by Sony.

Cosmetics: 7/10
3 scratches on the top, some on the bottom.

Technically: Soundqualitywise there are no problems.

Problem: The lid is missing one brace meaning that is only held by the remaning brace. If you open the lid you would have to be a bit careful. However, there are no problems when operating the player - the lid won't fall off even if you shake the player. No problem using it portably.

Equipment:
-original box
-leather bag
-external battery pack for operation with 2 normal AA batteries
-remote control
-original earbuds (bad shape, not recommended for further use)
-manuals in 5 different languages including English
-original power supply for 120V
-2 original Sony nimh flat rechargeable batteries and two chargers for these batteries (the chargers work with 220 and are from Panasonic. If you need them you can have them for free).

Thanks for looking

Hello,

I could be interested by the D-221 ... Can you ship to France ?

Maybe it is not the thread to develop the question, but have you compared the sound quality between a pcdp as the d211 and an Ipod. I have browsed all the threads on HeadFi, and I have not found a comparison. I have an Ipod (3G), Etys ER4 , a PPA amp, and Sony CD3000 : (and also a soundcard RME Digipad 96/8 for home listening). I wonder if the d211 upclasses really the Ipod ? I have read the outstanding Ducan's reviews of vintage pcdp, but how do you compare a d211 or d311 to a good home cd player such as a NAD C341 or Philips 963SA ?

Thanks, best regards

Hi, i sent you a pm. But in general: no, i don't think the d311 oe d211 sound as good as a philips 963, but hey, it's portable compared to standalone cd players.

bump, all 3 players are avalaible again.
