I got my first Stax system from Listenup audio in Denver (a Sim Audio Moon dealer)  and they will ship anywhere (I'm not near Denver). Listenup is a reputable dealer that has been around for 40 years.

If I could redo my current set up around your budget I would do the Moon 430HA for my amp and the Yggdrasil for my DAC. I own the Taurus mk2 and the 430HA just has that little something extra. It is a great amp. Just IMO. You might like the Ragnarok more.

Isn't the Moon 430HA also a DAC? Don't know that you need the Yggy with that setup.

The Moon 430HA doesn't have a DAC, but the Moon 430HAD has a DAC added to the 430HA for an extra $800.

Oh I see, it's optional. Could be a good one-box solution then. I like my HA-1 a lot as a one-box setup, and it is significantly cheaper (picked mine up for $800 used, the price of the 430HA's DAC alone!)

Going off topic a bit, but the 430HAD w/ DAC is a world class one-box setup. The DAC is fantastic and well matched to the amp.

As an owner of the Vega and the Yggy I would say go for the Yggy. It sounds better IMO and is over $1000 cheaper to boot.

Only a hand?  For five grand?  I'd expect breakfast in the morning!
