Hey, guys. I'm back visiting the forums again :)
I'd searched a while back and didn't find answers, searched again today, and am finally posting a question thread now that I'm digging my old ATH-M50s out of the moving box again.
The headband got a bit warped over the years in boxes. I've posted before how a segment of the plug pulled out. I'm ready to tear these up or sell them.

I can go out and get a soldering iron. I either wanna sell these or tear these apart, reconstructing them to a large extent. Anything's fair game. The cord, housing, band... adding any other crazy ideas... or just selling them but that's no fun and not worth the pennies for effort. So, anyone mind helping me find some instructions or point me in a direction with some ideas? :) I hope you're as excited as I am.

Not sure if it's worth creating a second thread, but... (and I'd once made a thread without much help in response)
I'm so disappointed that my beautiful Klipsch S5i tip got pulled out enough times to get a loose connection. It's been sitting here next to my S4 (which is fine but I gotta dig up my box of eartips). Obviously, it's not gonna fly to open the cord with all those micro wires braided up. The problem is in the tip, which still can be pulled out with some effort, so I've been asking around if anyone knows of a safe conductive material to jam down there, since I'm not comfortable opening up the plug housing. I mean, come on, if I squeeze the plug's housing just the right way, it easily gets connection. So, this time around, please someone just help and speak proper english (I'm referring to my previous response).
I'm not up for buying new stuff for now, having my RHA ma750 (awesome customer service) and my new KEF q300 speakers w/ my older Pioneer VSX-30 receiver. Got a couple spare Sansa Clip+ players that I'm hoping will last until (hopefully) something else worthy gets Rockbox'ed. I'm a bit rough with my earphones, so I don't wanna hear about just going deeper into audiophile land. However, I was liking the sound signature on some Grados a local place had. I'm just dying to remember my ATH-m50s pair and wanna revive them.
In summary, I need assistance fixing my mild Klipsch s5i problem and a major makeover for my ATH-M50s (straight cable). I'm really looking forward to hearing back and thanks.
