Point me in the right direction

The HE400 is open-back and leaks sound in and out, plus it's a lot heavier than the others. Not really a good choice for traveling.

I am aware of that, as I mentioned before I have the M6 Pro's for traveling. I've used closed-backs before for traveling and it doesn't appeal to me as much as the IEMs do. I'm really looking at something for home use which is why I'm considering the HE-400's more and more but thought it would be nice to have another option to travel with but not a necessity.
You won't regret it! Once you get them PM for modding ideas if you're curious! Love mine! Assuming they are the original 400 and not the new silver 400S.

This is another reason why I'm considering the HE-400, a mid-fi planar magnetic headphone that can be modded to the user's tastes. I've done some reading on all of the modifications available to the HE-400 and am fully aware of other headphones to modify as well and feel this would be the best choice to tinker with.

Alright, I'm still not sure about the HE-400's. For a while I was considering the OPPO PM-3's but couldn't justify the price. Now I'm looking at the AKG K553's but still considering the HE-400's. This would be so much easier if I could just go somewhere and try them but I highly doubt there would be anywhere in my town that would have them. We have a music store but I doubt they would have much of a selection. I'll still check them out.
