Your comparison is very useful, thanks a lot. Now I've tried a bit more the S-EM9 I can say I'm happy with that kind of sound as they're are enough edgy for my taste, indeed I was afraid with a more accurate or analytical kind of sound. Thanks Mim' :wink:

The Prophile is not more analytical, just more neutral, but also more enveloping, so just as engaging, maybe more in certain instances.

Oh ok thanks, I was thinking that an edgier sound was a more analytical sound without necessary being less musical or engaging.

Not exactly the es3 is completly different to the sm64.
You could say it s a baby sem9

Yes but it's a more refined, higher resolution sound signature. Reviews say ES2 sounds like SM64 but it has only 2 drivers as opposed to SM64's 3.

I'm looking for an upgrade from SD2.
Currently debating between S-EM9 and Andromeda.
Can anyone give a comparison between the two?
I listen to 80% metal (core, death, power) and 20% female R&B.
