You can turn auto volume in the settings but not everything, so it will be still quiet compared with those sold outside Europe right?

even if you can turn off the volume limiter ... it still sounds different from an uncapped one.....i had a A15 side to side with uncapped jap version it sounded dull in comparison to my ears..

A comparison soundwise ( Sorry, not to be clear ) I've wanted a ZX2 for so long & would still love one, but wonder if the ZX100, would be a favourable comparison ? ( Could save finances, of course. )

My EU-capped ZX100 is in 20 - 25 hours of use, and when I compare it to a fully burned ZX2 (EU-capped, too) I think most obvious difference is in the stage and imaging.

ZX2 has a more laid-back soundstage first of all with wonderful width and depth, both. Especially the imaging in some live-recordings may be mind blowing. Biggest I've seen to date.

However, this comes with a catch. Due to that more laid-back presentation, the sound (especially mids) is not forward as ZX100, and that may result in the feeling of some "loss of clarity". So it is my recommendation to match ZX2 with a can that has some forwardness in its mid section.

ZX100 does not quite have that "use with caution sign" with its more intimate presentation & less-3D soundstage (the stage of ZX100 is also good, but the one of ZX2 is different).

As an equation I can give from above, ZX100 may suit more to rock music which generally does not need a cavernous soundstage as ZX2, whereas in orchestral and live recordings the stage of ZX2 can produce better results.

I repeat, there is no "best" overall. The choice of what would be better for you depends definitely on your music preferences.

Interestingly enought my ZX100 with my MDR-1R cans, a bit midsy (mid-ceneterd cans) give me a nice bigger soundstage  nice deoth and width than my XBA-A3, so if one of you have those get te MUC- upgrade cable for A3/z5

Yesterday was given a shot to some Haydn music and well my XBA-A3 give a more intimate soudnstage (chamber music for winds if you are curious what i was comparing both cans as well church music by haydn too) and the 1R gave me a nice airuer soundstage, could feel the room size in the wind and the chruchmusic, especially reverberation decay

Thank you for your valuable feedback. I enjoy / have an wide musical taste, so it's difficult to choose. I own a Sony F886 & a recently purchased Fiio X5ii. I really like them both, but have always loved the sound signature of the F886, particularly.

Decisions, decisions ! ??

Be ware he maybe cheating and lying to you... the soundtage area he may be telling blatant lies (he maybe using TRRS connection, aka "balanced") and that is unfair if he is doing like so, he does not prove details how's he listening unlike me i say x reording Y and z headphones

My soundstage with A3's is beginning to open up (tough mine has arround 60h burn in)
