The Paw 5000 only have PCM 96khz max?
Guess now I was looking for a player that can play DSD without converting to PCM.. Anything on mind guys? :rolleyes:

I'm making the grave mistake of trying to use these at work. No work is being done. Too lost in the sound.

Welcome Mr Forrest, I love your product. Eagerly awaiting your next big project.

The gold filter makes the bass less boomy, but might induce more treble spike. It is pretty good, probably you should give it a try.

Surprisingly I've gotten used to the boominess, but it's the treble that gives me issues. Will try them with the Ostrys.

@JoeDoe:

Broke out both FLC 8S and Delta just now, volume matching by ear.

Jammed the first two songs off Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album. First is more energetic with make vocals. Second is languid, with a good bass line and female vocals.

FLC 8S was in my preferred Max Sub-bass, Med Bass, Med Mids, Med Highs config. Delta was with gunmetal filter.

If you're looking for a technically capable IEM you can fine-tune to your liking, FLC 8S is it. It's not going to reach Delta levels of bassiness, so if that's your gig move on and don't look back. It will however give you very natural and appropriate bass response, non-recessed mids, more detail, and much improved separation and soundstage.

No disrespect to Trinity. Delta certainly is fun but definitely sounds non-technical and a bit claustrophobic in comparison. I look forward to hearing what Trinity accomplished with the Phantom Bass, which *should* be a more technical IEM.

The A73 is great but the FLC8S is on a different level in terms of detail and speed. The A73 is noticeably V shaped when compared, with peaky treble and bloomy bass. The FLC8 wins in every aspect.

Thanks man! Guess I have to head down for a listen. Hope that the deal will still be on before the end of next week.

The fact that the popular A83 (a direct FLC8 competitor) isn't on discount should make your decision all the more easier. :wink_face:

There's an interesting comparison on the Z5s, FLC8S, DN2000J and the A83 on a Chinese website:

But just like everyone else here, I heartily recommend the FLC8S (with the magical red filter)!!

Just ordered a pair. The great reviews and discount made all that resistance futile. Now its a month's wait.

Great to see @Flcforrestwei joining in.
