Hi all, I have a laptop with a messed up audio jack. I have to pull headphones out slightly and jiggle it to some particular angle to get sound into my headphones.

At first I considered getting a small USB stick sound card just for working jacks but then I might as well consider something with a headphone amp to power my Senn HD595's. Anyone been in a similar situation?

I'd like something that can get the most of the 595's. Bells and whistles that would be good to have:

- be able to toggle between headphone and laptop speakers without pulling out headphones. This may get messy as it would switch sound cards.

- Was checking out the Xonar U3's. It has separate jacks for mic and phones but sometimes I make calls using an earphone set with integrated mic and phone jack. Support for the integrated jack would be great.

TIA for suggestions!

Ah by laptop speakers I meant the built-in speakers, basically wondering if I can toggle between the two easily without having to unplug stuff.

Now considering the Xonar U3.  It's a bit dated but perhaps because nothing groundbreaking happened since then...
