He is having problems. Its probably best to call him if you dont get a reply within a couple days. He usually replies quickly so if you aren't getting a timely response thats probably why.

Guys,I realize that this is an old thread,,but I need your help/advice.I have a PPX#,,6CG7,PTP wiredwith the Nuetrik connector.It has a large 47uF Solen cap(in the ps circuit) and a couple of "orange drop caps" (one to each tube socket)Anyhow,I remember reading something about replacing those with PIO caps,,I am decent with a soldering iron,and I thought that I would ask for some suggestions,I am happy with my apparently trouble free unit,,so,, lemme' have it--tweak or leave it alone.

I'd take measure the operating points of the amp and make sure you aren't running the caps higher than they're rated for.  As for replacing the orange drops, I'd keep them, they're decent caps.

Upgrade from SP will "two big orange drop to AudioNote Silverfoil". The big solen could another upgrade, I can't remember

 

EDIT:

I found this info from 6moon

Over the base unit, it adds Solen fast capacitors ($65), Jensen paper-in-oil coupling caps ($154) and the Neutrik locking 1/4" headphone jack ($50).

 

Here is MPX3, could be full upgraded one. I dig from my computer.
