Aune M2 | AK4490 Dac | Class A amp | Dual Crystek USA Clocks | - Page 35

ok, other cards work a 32gb sdhc. I've tried at both fw 1.21 and 1.22 maybe its the card only 2544 songs. If it can't be solved I'll split genres on a card each. Its only a small frustration the SQ and the great lineout have me sold on it for some time yet.

im using 128gb too.
only mp3 and flac files.
the count on mine is more than 10,000 songs.
there are missing songs, some folders dont have files in it. frown.gif

there is no 100% success rate on me.
sometimes it appears, sometimes theres no songs in it.
try reinserting the memory card from time to time.

Any solutions out there?

Can you both inform us of the micro sd brand/model you are using with the aune ?

Yep, the problematic one is a Sandisk 128G Micro SDXC Extreme Class 10 UHS-I U3 V30, the smaller capacity one I had been previously was again Sandisk 32gb Extreme microSDHC U3/Class 10 this one works just fine but not enough storage.

Then, moved on to get X3ii and relatively unknown Hidiz AP100 very musical and even warmer than FiiO.

One thing they all have in common that I was struggling with the way they sounded and messing with EQ constantly to get them to sound right but ended up miserably. The bass was always lacking depth, weight and punch and the sound stage was never open enough.

The M2S is perfect for me. I don't need EQ and portable amp is only an option not a must. It drives my full size headphones very reasonably and satisfyingly.

I do occasionally "re-master" a song or the entire album to make them sound even better for headphone listening ie. widening the sound stage, more depth to low ends and better definitions overall.

Cheers for the blue bomber.

Can you compare it to any ipod?

I do not have an ipod but let me take a shot in the dark here..

Aune M2S  > Ipod (any) in terms of SQ

I could be wrong, but I feel so confident..

The things you are not gonna find in the Aune when comparing the Ipods are this.
Ipods may have Wifi
Album art
Various ways to categorize music
Color LCD screen or the like
smaller foot print
Potentially longer batter
Fixed memory/storage
Free earbuds

If any of these things supersede your quest for audio bliss than the Aune M2S or any of the other models may not be suitable for you.

Don't take this in wrong way but there are lots of people who also said about the Fiio x1 and x3ii,that they are better than any ipod handsdown.Well they are better than most ipods especially new ones but some older ipods like ipod classic 5th gen are certainly better than these new so called audiophile players.

Certainly, I did mention that I do not own or have used them (the exception being save for the little shuffle when it first came out but that doesn't count).
Again, since I have no immediate reference I sit on the sidelines of speculation, however, when you factor in the planning that went into the layout of the Aune and the parts sourced, they clearly are of a better quality and implementation. With all focus and direction being focused at sound and PCB layout rather than things like wifi, screen colors/resolution, etc. I would be greatly surprised to hear from other users of course that it could excel in providing as close of a black background as the Aune, proper driveability per phones/headphones or as detailed of playback when comparing the ipods to the Aune, without modding of course.

I stand eager to hear otherwise though and if you find yourself in the position, I would appreciate any and all comparisons you might provide. :beerchug:

any updates on firmware from AUNE?

I got a new amp to use with the M2 which made me try various albums, I found I had 4 doubles of albums mp3 and flac in the same folder so I deleted the mp3's and

now the player shows me 4 more albums that were not visible before but were on the card. So I think there must be some form of file limit, I can see/use 2332 of 2544

that are on the card. This is the non-Pro model do I need to trade up to the pro?  as 31.6gb is not enough room for my collection.

when do we expect another update from AUNE company?

i havent heard from them for months now since i bought my AUNE m2s. :(

really the let down is the battery life. it gets hot as the mojo when nonstop usage.

still, i am hoping they will give time to listen to our cries.

also, id like to ask some owners, does any of you tried storing *files and/or folders for more than 150 in one place?

did the AUNE m2s read all the files/folders?

I said before my unit has no problems scanning/ reading all files and it didn't get hot unless I listen and charge at the same time.

Battery life, file managements, album art..who knows when

I feel your pain but life is really short and you can't wait forever know what I mean :D

I agree with Skyfall. I too have the MS2 version and never had problems scanning or it reading all files in a folder. As for heat I can relate a small bit with it stacked with the B1. If playing a lot of high quality for extended periods (ie. hours) than it does get noticeably warm, not hot though.
