Perhaps because not that many have that issue? Mine certainly don't. Not as fatal as Audeze seeming to have high incidence of driver failure, from what anecdotal evidence there is in Head-fi. So, it's all perception.

I did and I had a driver issue too.

How have HIFIMAN not fixed this by now?

Absolutely pathetic.

I suspect, based on my own experience, it might be because HiFiMAN has not been asked to fix it.  They jumped right in, twice, to fix both my HE1000 and my EF-6.  I have experienced exemplary customer service from HiFiMAN.

Does your dad own the company? It makes me chuckle how quickly people will defend a headphone despite there being many people on here that have said that there's squeak.
I've now seen 4 in person and all had the issue. It was also mentioned on Tylls review.

I'm sure Hifiman is great with customer service. The he-1000 is a great piece of kit. But why can we not call a spade a spade (?)

It squeaks - but I think people are using the price as a sort of prima-donna argument that it should not squeak for the money. I think the money went into the design of the acoustics. Metal against metal - squeaks.

Does it squeak when on my head, and music is playing - no. That would irritate me

I'd struggle making a Lego pirate ship, so I'm not exactly the man to offer up ways to prevent it - but surely they can put something in between the metal?

That was rather offensive, if I may say so myself. Juvenile even. :) But it is what it is. Sad person. On a crusade.

what to fix on the EF6?

My EF-6 had a problem with an intermittent ON switch. It would not always get out of its Start-Up mode. It was dependent on which outlet I had it plugged into, and it got worse with time (less than a week).

They replaced the EF-6 with a new one. The On button on the new one stuck out much more than the one's so I suspect the old one's button might have gotten pushed in during shipping.

How is what Pot said offensive. And if your going to call someone juvenile you probably shouldn't start with the name calling.

That being said I've never heard a squeak with mine. You sure you just don't have a defective one Pot?

Mine squeaks a bit, but I got to really try to make it do that. I don't see any reason to complain about, as long as it doesn't squeaks while being worn.

Yes! This!
Can make it squeak. But it doesn't do it when I'm using it.

I actually never went through with getting one mate, but the squeaking exists on a lot and has been mentioned on here and the other thread. I should have kept quiet really - someone that had a squeaky one just made me vent.
I will have a 4K pot ready for February so will be doing a totl shootout at my dealers. I won't lie and say im gonna get my end game set up - as we both know it never ends!
