Step up from ATH-M50's?

So I have had My Ath-M50's for about a 2 years now  recently I find myself wanting something but I dont know If it can get any better Than the M50x's for the price?

I listen to Hoestly all music, But my favorites would be EDM,Rock,Indie,Rap/hip hop.

My Max would probably be about $250.

Ive looked into these headphones and think they are nice, BUT for now I dont use a amp but am willing to get one (A cheap one, Im a student)

- DT-990 Pro 250

-DT-770 PRO

- Audio technica ATH-AD900 or the X's

- Sennhiser 598's

I like pretty bass music, but nothing crazy. At this point im leaning towards the DT-990 Pro 250 based on their comfort.

I AM OPEN TO ANYTHING BETTER THAN THE M50x's!

Open headphones have a much better soundstage than closed headphones. But they leak sound and let sound in. So you are best to decide whether closed or open fits your needs best.

That being said, the DT990s could be a good choice for an open headphone. If these are for use on your computer, you could get a Soundblaster Z sound card to go with them.

I use a laptop so I dont think I could use a soundcard. Plus I wont have enough money for both.

The DT990s would probably need a headphone amp. You could go without one to start until you can save up. They just might not get very loud.

Keep in mind that the Swans are popular as audiophile computer desktop speakers. If you think you might want to expand your setup in other ways later, a better route could be passive speakers and a receiver.

No offense but im not looking for speakers, I quite far from that. At this point at just want a mid-range audiophile headphones and a good amp sub $100.

Beyer DT990 Pro 250 plus FiiO E12 should work super for you.

I was honestly looking for a cheaper amp. More like a $25-$80 amp

Fiio E10K is $75 and includes a USB DAC+Amp. Fiio E11K is $60 for a battery powered portable amp (no dac).

I would stay away from the super-cheap amps on ebay that are shipped direct from China.

You might want to consider getting a cheap amp and a used HD600.

The 600 is a classic, if you get it you should not need to upgrade until you start to itch for the HD800 . It's still one of my favourite cans I've ever heard.
