How to clean/replace HD650 Headband Pad?

What is the best way to remove the headband pad? I"m thinking about compressing the pad at one end until it slip out. Anyone with experience out there that can tell me how to do this. I'd like to clean and re-use it if possible.

On the other had I sure like the headband pad on my new 650's. If they are the same size I'd substitute the new version for the old.

1. extend the headphone to full extension
2. pry off the two small black tabs on the headband nearest the headband pad
3. slide off the pad
4. wash

easy! good luck. i clean the headband pad and earpads twice a year.

Yeah i managed to do it! Thanks.

I just sanded the HD650, man that was a heart-wrenching moment! I sprayed some primer on and am waiting to apply my second coat.

But what I still can't do is remove the cups from the gymbals. Do we have a guide for that?
