Broken cd player

Hi the spindle on my Sony portable broke today and I was wondering if anybody knew how to fix it or do I have to send it back to Sony. What happened is half the spindle broke away and now it won't hold the cd correctly. Does anybody know if and where I can by the part. Any ifno would be great. Thanks

I hope you have purchased a protection plan from the retail store. Otherwise, its a pain to actually deal with Sony.

All 3 of my sony pcdp has the spindel integrated with the laster carriage/rails. Replacing it looks hard and probably requires fine soldering.

Thanks pedxing for your reply, no I didn't purchase a warranty from the store and my Sony is the same way with the spindle integrated with the laser. I figured Sony would be a hassle to deal with. Im wondering though because the actuall spindle isn't damaged just the little circle is broken if I can buy that piece and snap it on, because the piece that is on my Sony right now slid right off.
