From what I read Hyperion would be better for pop. This is H20's post.

"Tenore is very good, the reference pair I have sound great. The difference with Hyperion is while it shares similar tonality (to a reference Tenore) Hyperion has more body to the mid-range, vocals sound fuller and the low end has better texture and clarity downstairs. Detail wise they similar but Hyperion sounds that touch more professional and a little more versatile at the same time.

I'm reluctant to talk about Tenore much in comparisons because:

1) Quality control issues with the sound cause confusion amoung the community.

2) The build isn't very strong which reflects it's price. Something Hyperion has completely covered. (At virtually the same price)"

How can we know that at this point? The Tenore thread was well over a hundred pages long, before the first build quality issues started popping up.

We can't know for sure James - but all I can do is reiterate based on what I've seen so far:

Milled aluminium alloy body

Good strain relief

Very good cable

I'm pretty confident with the build quality - but only time will tell.

I'm against the spinfits as a mile stretch reward. I highly doubt it'll be feasible economically for Trinity. Look at the cost of a single Spinfit pair, and look at the cost of the Hyperion. It's nearly half its value. And that is just one pair of tips. If they just give M size spinfits, people would argue and want all 3 sizes which is totally absurd as it would far outweigh the price of a Hyperion. I'd advise against spinfits for the Techne and Delta too. I just think it's unreasonable to ask a high priced tip for such a good pricing and quality for iems.

Disclaimer: i just find it unfair to Bob and his startup, I'm not saying this because II have already ordered S M L Spinfits from Dopaminer

I'm all for the poll about the angled jack
Also, +1 for a black case with a nice Trinity logo.

I've one questions n about the y splitter, can the metal case move up the L R cables like a cinch? I like to move it up all the way when I coil my iems to tuck em away in my case, makes it tidy and easy to use again.

He could so something like: "pay an extra $7 to bundle a pays of Spinfits. Pay an extra $15 for all three sizes."

You're making the assumption that Spinfits would be 10USD / pair.  Personally I also think they may end up being a little expensive, but if Bob is buying 1000+ pairs, then pretty sure his buy price would be very different to what Dopaminer can do (ftr - I've ordered Spinfits though David as well - curiousity got the better of me).  Bob has made the inquiry to the Spinfit makers - lets see what he comes back with.

Bob has already suggested in the KS comments that a choice of case will be offered in black or red.

Y splitter is fixed - but Bob will be making a cinch standard with all three models.

yeah he could, except it would be quite higher than that. $5 spinfits were a Jaben SoCal steal deal, they cost more than that.

Ok Guys, a update regarding Spinfit tips. I have spoken with the manufacturer and I have to buy a gigantic amount of tips, which i really only wanted for you guys. Plus the cost per pair is just silly pricing. In addition they would require me to alter packaging to accommodate their branding also.

Sorry to say that the spin fit idea will not work as a stretch goal.

Thanks
Bob

So Spinfits are out.

The warranty is 1 year.

The laser etching is a good idea, but vastly time consuming to do for each individual. I think I mentioned in another comment that this would not be workable as would delay everything. It is a shame as I would have liked to have don't his for you all.

At this moment in time there will be a choice of case colour from either Red or Black. Also Think I will include a right angled adapter also.

We include a large choice of tips as standard, so this should not be too much of an issue.

As we have included so much as standard it is quite hard to think what else could be added.

  • No laser etching
  • Case colour red or black
  • He's looking at adding a right angle adaptor standard for all models (so you can then go right angle or straight, simply by use or non-use of the adaptor)

cinch: awesome, I'm confident Bob will make one as sleek as Dunu did with the Titan1. With a slice of the tube casing that can go up and down and then lodge back into the fixed tube

Spinfit: yea I was making that assumption. I mean getting spinfits is already a big pain in the butt to get. Too few sources afaik. Jaben ships worldwide but can be pricey. You got Ruten, but language and shipping is an issue. Glad Dopa is hooking us up. Sure it is $10, but that's with intl shippping incl.
I could just say, I too wish Bob would add some free spinfits yay. Yet asking for $5 spinfits with worldwide shipping reminds me of a Belgian saying: asking the butter, the money of the price of the butter, and the smile of the milking lady. biggrin.gif

Just a further update on the Spinfits -

Spinfit did reply - but their requirement for a reasonable price level on the tips was going to be around 10.000 pairs, and their other requirement was that the SpinFit Logo and "Powered by SpinFit" wording would be printed on the product packaging.

Bob actually had no issues with pushing the logo on the packaging - but the initial outlay would have killed the KS (3 pairs x 10K).  Pity - because he possibly would have looked at making them standard on all earphones from that point.

Might still be an option in a few years as Trinity grows in size - but for now was a step too far.

Laser etching: I figured as much since that sorta stuff is custom and very time consuming, let along pretty pricey for the producer what with equipment costs so I really don't mind that it isn't included. Not too surprising anyway.

Right angle adapter: I totally on board for this! And if the strain relief is anything like the straight jack's strain relief, that right angle adapter's jack should be really sturdy.

Maybe an included small velcro strap to tie up the cable when putting in the case for storage? Like the one on the Brainwavs Delta? I really don't have many suggestions haha. These have been very well-done in the department of packaging and design.

You know what? I was happy with my purchase - Delta plus double Trinity - as originally described, so the addition of an L-adaptor is a big bonus. Will still be pleased as punch to receive these when they're ready. Great job Bob... don't stress about stretch!

That's how I feel too, we are getting valuable quality for great price. I'm content. smile.gif

Totally! Crowdfunding isn't always something you feel you get to see all the money sunk into the product (I'm looking at you Star Citizen, I mean seriously, how do you crowdfund nearly $79 million???), but with the Trinity IEMs, I like what I see! Things will be very competitive indeed when these are at proper retail prices, but for the KS prices, it's borderline daylight robbery!

this is how i feel - just had to buy a pair, given how much i'm enjoying the alfa genus.  i just had to try the deltas, too!

and even now, i'm sorely tempted to try the hyperion as a gym headphone - if i can convince bob to add memory wire for more secure over-ear wearing, i'd up my pledge for them in a heartbeat!
