Speaker Balance Test: Does this song sound louder in your left speaker?

I've been troubleshooting a sound balance problem with my speakers for a while, and while i believe my left speaker sounds louder due to its placement in the corner, I also am wondering if my amplifier could be the culprit? Take this song for example:

The song is ambient/noise, so its supposed to sound a bit noisy and distorted...but the track definitely sounds just more loud in general in the left channel for me.

Is that how it sounds to you guys? Or is it balanced? The thing is, if I switch my speaker wire---the louder channel is then coming out of my right speaker. If this song sounds balanced to you guys, then maybe its actually been my amplifier that has caused this all along? I don't have any other speakers/headphones to test this with, so if someone could test this song on their speakers, I'd appreciate it!

This song also sounds like its very much louder from the left channel:

It's the songs. Listen to something else to confirm it.

The first song does seem slightly imbalanced on my speakers, but strangely on my headphones it does not, and the VU meter in foobar indicated that the channels are balanced.

The second song sounds more imbalanced than the first. It doesn't sound quite as imbalanced in my headphones than through speakers. The VU meter indicates that the left channel here is louder.

When listening through speakers, you hear a mix of the left and right channel audio in each ear, and through headphones you only hear one channel in each ear. I think there is just some odd effect in these songs that, due to the sounds mixing when played through speakers, makes them sound louder in the left, even though independently the left and right channels may be the same loudness. It might also be a psychological thing.

Can you record this in any way to play through your stereo?  It should be a fairly simple test.  If the "center" signal doesn't sound centered, then you have a problem:

EDIT: The Windows OS also has similar tests, if you are able to play your computer's audio through your stereo system.

If you ever want to check your equipment like this

1) Download some pink noise
2) Use an SPL meter app with your phone to measure both speakers. Measure nearfield (not across the room) as room reflections may give one speaker slightly more volume than another. And measure each from the exact same distance.
