if you like LOTS of bass, then you've got the best bet there. if you like a good amount of TIGHT bass, then look for a set of Creative Megaworks (either 2.1 or 5.1).

isnt the Creative Megaworks expensive.

Logitech is by the worst I have ever heard.

I agree, logitech should stick to making mice, their speakers sound like crap, but a lot of people think they got big BASS, -- bloated, booming bass, which some people absolutely love. I think from your description of "BASS HEAD" ie you want cheap loud bass, go for the logitechs, for $140 you definetly won't get anything good.

why do you diss on logitech they are the only company that can make affordable speakers, if logetic wanted to they could make speakers that are just as good as the promedias, but they would be just as expensive as them. I dont have the money to spend $250 on a set of nice speakers, i have $100-$150. If you can think of something better in the price range post it here.

Do you care how the bass sounds or just how "big" it is?

I was just trying to be helpful, since I did quite a bit of work looking around for computer speakers a while ago.

Since obviously you do not feel at ease with my suggestions, then I shall not endeavor to offer anymore of my opinions in this thread.

I don't think I would put the pro-medias as the bar to compare spekears too.. maybe pc speakers, i guess thats what ur asking for, this forum is more focused on hi-fi gear though... pc speakers do not qualify

Only other speakers in that price range I think are altec lansing, but I have not heard any of their speakers in a long time. You could try to find some used pc speakers too, logitech 560s are not that hot, i'd prefer old used promedia 4.1s or 5.1s, maybe something from the creative line of speakers... try asking around on other forums, most people here (including myself) spend more than $140 on speaker wire! Someone will come along shortly and suggest you spend it all on headphones anyways, but $140 is pretty cheap for that too!

Yeah, me!

You would like the Ultrasones, and you would love the Beyer DT770. The latter would be tougher to drive, but the bass levels are frightening. No speaker system will come close for your stated price range, but either of these headphones can be found used for that kind of money.

You guys smoke crack!
The Logitech Z-680s and most of their speaker line is the best value in computer speaker systems. The Z680s actually beat their Klipch rivals!
I own them and I've never heard better (computer speaker wise)

Okay i`m using the Z640`s right now, and i dont find them that bad. Do the Z560`s kill the Z640`s in sound quallity. I want to blast my speakers when playing a Rap song, But i mainly listen to metal. I heard the Promedias are too bright what exactly does that mean, its probably not good for rock and Rap. Which is all i listen to. Something with alot of bass is a must.

so the requrments is
-under $150
-pounding bass
-good for Rock and Rap
-overall good sound quallity

The Z560`s have pounding bass, there $120 shipped, the pounding bass is good for rap, i`m not an audio expert and when i first turned on My Z640`s i was amazed. So i`m sure i`ll be happy with the Z560`s sound.

sorry to whoever i was mean to.

Heh looks like you just answered your own query... you're correct, the Z560 certainly does blow the Z640 out of the water (people please keep it in terms of pc speakers ) if you -really- want a true big brother to the Z640... the Z680 is what you need (basically a 5.1 Z560)
There's also a Z680 that drops the digital input but ustilises the same speakers and it costs a heck of a lot less... the model number escapes me at this moment... something like ZE500 or something..
I'd describe the Z560 as up near the pinnacle of PC speakers myself... cheap(ish) and good sounding(ish) - just turn the bass dooowwnnn
Hope this helps.
