Burn-in time needed for CMoy?

Thread Starter
I will be getting a CMoy amp soon and wondered if it required a "burn-in" period. I've read that amps such as Xin's Supermini and Headsave's Meta Mint, Go-Vibe, etc. require at least 50 hours to burn-in.

I'm familiar with the phenomenon on headphones, and wondered how this works for headphone amplifiers? What is it that changes with burn-in, and how does this happen? Is there a best way to burn-in my CMoy, and a recommended # of hours to allow for the burn-in process?

thanks in advance,

Personally I've just noticed that amps sound somewhat 'incoherent' (not too smooth) at first, and gradually gain coherency.

Hard to say... likely small scale (even molecular level) changes in the electronic parts. Or possibly it's one's ears that "burn in" to the sound of the amp... hard to make any absolute statements.

Naah, I'd just listen normally and see if/when the sound improves any .

burn in on amps is always debated. We have had a few questions on the subject and there never really is scientific proof. I feel burn in on amps is just the listener getting used to the sound.

Well problem is that no one ever tryed to purchase two same type of headphones and compare them.

One burned for like 1000hours with unused brand new one side by side.

That would be the final proof!
