I know there's plenty of threads but what I've found are pretty outdated and either the IEM is discontinued or a new king has arrived.

Bass I'm not obsessed with. I like it to be clean and tight.
Mids are what I love the most.
I like clean highs. I dunno how else to explain it, I dunno what all that "sparkly highs" mean.

I listen to a lot of older metal when it didn't sound like screaming crap. Metal Church, Savatage, Helloween etc as well as older rock like Pink Floyd, Eagles, Rush, Meatloaf.
Been getting more into Sax jazz annd been listening a lot of Diana Krall and Katie Melua.

Listen to stuff like Enya as well, whatever that's called.

These will be used with my iBasso DX50 and FLAC files.

Thanks :)

Also they HAVE to be on Amazon. I got a big giftcard as part of doing taxes with TurboTax (they added 10% for every 100 you put on a card)

For noiseless/clean, neutral and superb detailed sound: Etymotic HF5 iem, connected to JDS Labs C5D dac, and iPad2 cck. And, play HD tracks (24bit 96khz or 192khz).
C5D is pricey but i dont think there is a compact dac that can match its performance. It was designed for sensitive high end in-ear-monitors. My HF5 and C5D is a perfect pairing.

Irrelevant seeing as I didn't ask for a DAC. I'm happy with my DX50.

That being said I pulled the trigger on some Westone UM Pro10s. A lot good reviews on em and I wanted the ear moulding style rather than the style that sticks out.
