Grado Balance Issue.. I think

I recently purchased an alessandro MS1i and it seems like the is slightly more volume coming out of the left ear than the right. I turned them around and it kinda made a difference but I am not sure. is it possible for one of the speakers to be working at a lower volume? I noticed that the cable seems to have been quite twisted for some time, could it be a damaged cable? Any ideas on this?

Thanks,

James

You bought these used? It is possible the drivers are poorly matched, or perhaps one driver has been replaced.

. I realized I have a balance control on my Fiio E07K and it really made all of the difference, I moved it over to 2 on the rt ear and it sounded great, perhaps I am imagining it. But I think that has fixed the issue. Granted, I learned my lesson with the whole "fleabay buy!

Thanks!!

Try another headphone and see if you get the same result.

I would have to buy another headphone to try one out. I do not have a store in San Antonio that carries these headphones... wish I did!!

San Antonio is a big city.  Borrow one from a friend of family or take your kit to a place like Best Buy and use one of their cans.  It can be any decent can--not just an Alessandro or a Grado.

The purpose is to determine if the problem is with your cans or in the chain of equipment and or music feeding it.
