OK, so we all know that the Pana 470 and the Sony 725/01 are good...

But now we have the Pana 790 and the sony 1k... do they sound any better than our tried and true favorites?

And yes, I searched.

If you're on the move, the Panasonic 570 is better than the 470, with its 10 second non-compressed anti-shock. I haven't listened to either of the newer players you mentioned.

I highly doubt they sound any better than the older models. I have a Pana 570 on my way, but I'm not expecting anything great, just something tolerable for portable use.
