Vibe/Go-Vibe or Supermini to use with Shure E2 and iPod?

I'm debating getting a small amp to use with my iPod mini and Shure E2 headphones. i'm looking for something with a little more clarity than the iPod's headphone out, which can be a little flat sometimes with the E2's unless I'm using some EQ.

Which would be a better match with this player and headphones? There are some good deals on used Supermini's which brings the price very in line with the price of a Go-Vibe with shipping.

thanks!

I have not used the supermini but do have the go-vibe. I use it with my ipod. There is a definite improvement in the sound quality through the line out. I will have it with me at tomorrows meet in Florida. I know there will be a superdual present but I do not know if a supermini will be there. I will try to update you after the meet if I have more info. This assumes your question is not answered in the interim.

How would you say the sound is improved? Better clarity with the amp and line out than just using headphones plugged straight into the headphone jack?

Also, what case and interconnect do you use with the iPod and the Go-Vibe?

You hit the nail right on the head. There is better detail, especially at lower volume, which is where I try to keep it. It cleans up the sound. I bought it initially to use with my E5's as a bedroom setup and portable setup. I picked up a pair of MS-1's and have been using that in the house and it is a nice combination. Better bass than with the E5's which I guess is not unexpected. I hope this helps, I am not the best a describing what I hear in audiophile terms.
