[QUESTION] Should I get an Amplifier? - Gaming Purposes, for competitive ( and immersion if possible)

Funny - I just did some research on the SB-Z, including Tech Power Up's review.

According to the specs, it'll output 2 VRMS on high gain and 1.3 VRMS on low gain (through the headphone out).  They don't give full specs which is a shame, but one of the comments from the review is:
The Creative Sound Blaster Z is a good match for high impedance and medium to low efficiency headphones.

Seems people have been using up to 600 ohm headphones, with no issues.

The SBZ has good shielding as well.

So OP - you don't need additional amping.

I might be inclined to agree, but the cans he is using (the K712) worries me because it's pretty power hungry IIRC.

I know - I've owned most of the AKG K7xx series as well as the 612. But the specs Sayvoltage won't be an issue, and assuming decent solid state components, it shouldn't be current limited either. Unfortunately I can't say for sure as I don't have one to test. But looking purely at specs and other feedback and reviews - it shouldn't need additional amping.
