All you need is a usb pen drive with Yosemite 10.10.2, reboot and press CMD + R (restore mode) until it shows the black screen with a white apple.

Then all you need is to install over the 10.10.3 drive and it will downgrade to the OS version inside the pen drive.

I haven't used it (though did ask the Sennheiser people about it and they had no idea) but it is in many ways an updated version of the BTD 500. I honestly don't see why they would get rid of the feature. Even if its main aim was to be used with the Presence headsets it is still a normal bluetooth dongle and is being given/sold to people who just want to listen to music (it is available for sale separetely where I am). The product sheet though does make no reference to aptx and I can't seem to find a full manual anywhere for it.

I emailed support again. They still have no ETA on the BTD 500 firmware update, but did confirm that the 800 supports apt-X. I'm ordering one now, so I'll see how well it works when it arrives.

Cool thanx I'll check out the link for symphony 1's. If anyone is struggling to wait 1 to 3 months to get their m2s from Amazon prime, I have a pair already up for sale on eBay, like new used maybe a few time! Just don't get on with them with my glasses. UK based, UK shipping only. In Ivory.

If the Momentum gave you issues with glasses then I fear the Symphony 1 will cause the same issues or worse. The headband is very small and IIRC another poster on the Symphony 1 thread complained that they didn't get on with his hat/glasses while the Momentum worked fine.

I doubt Sennheiser will do much until enough negative comments hurt the M2 reviews enough to slow sales and make them wonder why.

Problem is, even with the high price and BT issues, its difficult to come down too hard on the M2. It still sounds incredible and is very versatile. There still aren't many headphones of this type from the high-end makers, so the M2's faults are (for now) not enough to boycott it. I'm afraid that, if we did, few other manufacturers will go out on a limb with mid to high-end BT headphones.

Well, I've so far kept hold of my M2 wireless, and have contacted Sennheiser UK.  Here is what I sent to them, as I originally sent in an online complaint on return of my first set of M2s:

Dear Sennheiser,

Ref no: xxxxxxxxx

You will see from the below that I have since re-purchased the M2 wireless headphones (registered below) - I actually repurchased them twice.  However, the problems with BT I noted in the above reference number still persist.  I would like a response, particularly whether this could be rectified by a firmware update.  Otherwise, I’m afraid, I will have to return the headphones for a refund.

There is a full discussion of the issues at this thread on Head-Fi (http://www.head-fi.org/t/749606/sennheiser-momentum-2-0-and-wireless0, but here is a summary of my issues from that thread: (summary included from my post re: Liverpool & London yesterday)

I should also add that the noise cancelling is poor on a bus.  There is a constant fluttering of background noise.  This makes the headphones only really useable on my commute in passive mode, as wired with ANC or wireless (which always engages ANC) this flutter is evident.

In response, I have been told that a member of the Sennheiser team is reviewing my request and will send me a personal response in the very near future, along with an assurance that they will do all they can to resolve my problem as quickly as possible.  Will update as and when.  Unless it is within the next 24 hours, I may well have already returned the M2s for a full refund.

Just one additional question - where does it say that the headphones can have their firmware updated?  It is certainly not a feature of the UK manual/user instructions, either as included or as available to download from the Sennheiser UK website.

Thanks for the tip. Maybe the new Sony's out Zik 2.0 then ☺

I think it was hinted at when this thread started since the M2 has a micro usb port.

Recall someone stating Sennheiser communicated to them that firmware could be updated (in theory) but no plans to do so.

Will likely return my 2nd pair (haven't registered with Sennheiser but sounds like a good idea) but I doubt any other bluetooth headphone will sound as good.

I also heard they were less comfy and less portable. I personally value comfort above all else and believe BT wireless headphones should be easily portable too.

Seems neither is perfect but, as I said, I still may return the M2.

Only question left is how the Denon GC20 will perform.
