Sorry to hear that, you had a problem with the 3.5mm connector and had it replaced already? Did you contact Support@Audeze.com?

Thank you,

Audeze

true that. there is a reason that standard connectors are the standards.

We think standards are made to be improved. For instance, perhaps we can agree that RCA plugs are far from the best way to connect components, but they've been the standard for ages. Unfortunately at this time we just can't reveal our future plans for the special connector but when we do it'll all make sense.

Thank you,

Audeze

I love the design of the EL-8 closed with the wood and smooth black sides. Would they be easy to drive off of a smart phone, do you think?

Hello, we're not aware of any reports of problems with the headphone-end connector, the purpose of which will become clear in the future.

Thank you,

Audeze

There have been reports here of the plugs falling out of the headphone!

Hmmm thanks for your impressions on the Oppo amp/ dacs. I am thinking about getting the ha-2 and your words really tempt me lol.

For a variety of business reasons we just can't let the cat out of the bag as yet, but when we implement in future you will all understand the logic.

Thank you,

I tried using my different dac/amps and the dark sound was from bifrost/project ember combo.  tried from Xonar DG sound card and it gets much brighter, like my HD-650.  I like the pairing with my Teac AH-01, the bass is tight, mids are just right to me and the highs are smooth.

But of course, I can't seem find the post that mentioned it, now that the topic is relevant. The best I can do is the moon audio description of the el-8

"Apple cable will be available at additional cost. Price TBD."

Apple cables will be available but that's not the big reveal, that'll take some time but make sense when its rolled out.

Thank you,

RCA plugs are the standard because they work, they are a universal standard, proven over the ages!

mmm... I don't think there is anything wrong with trying to improve on standards. It's actually quite commendable. However, the thing is that standards are indeed proven & universally compatible & easy to use. hard to say whether a new propriety is worth it until we know all the benefits. will reserve judgement until the reveal.

very excited to learn what it is!! :)
