Thank you for answer. Objectively, is the difference in price between just good dynamic driver (like KC06) and hybrid (like DN-1000) justified? Or I can buy pretty cheap one dynamic driver earphones and still be happy (never listened any really good dynamic headphones, my best headphones ever is CAL, BA is only in dreams :)

Since you listen to metal mainly I think, I'm going to say yes. DN-1000 will definitely be an upgrade. Consider the Altone200

Heard CAL's were great headphones! I love the bio-cellulose technology sound. Since you digged the CAL, I throw the GR07 Bass Edition into the mix.
KC06 are fantastic earphones for every genre... but I'm going to say DN-1000 will be the better choice. KC06 is kind of like treated like a ~$60 that can compete with TOTL earphones here, it's just simply not true.

If you can handle spark, VSD5 is cheap and superbly detailed for its price. S5 is good but has some top end resolution problem with good bass (mainly mid bass) and mids. I wont consider ostry. VSD5 just blows them away. And if you have money, Go get the DN-1k. Slightly V-shaped but details are plenty for its price.

+1, KC06 are good dynamic IEMs and nicely built fwiw,  but there's this hype rate that's very inflated......we can sniff what a bad smoke is.....

Lol I just remembered I've ordered the VSD5 and a Dunu Titan after a few too many drinks while on the PC last night.

Jumped on the train and bought a pair from penonaudio.

I skipped the VSD3/S, first there was the cable issues, then i wasn´t to thrilled with the overly bassy sound signature and shrill highs. I tend to like leaner headphones like the B3, KC06 TDie800 etc etc. However, i borrowed the vsd3s from a friend at work and i really liked the design and fit.. Isolation was very good as well! However i did not really enjoy the sound ( this is just based on a very short listening session )

I have high hopes for the vsd5 to bring balance to the force, i can see it as a proper portable solution. I am so sick of iems that you can´t use when on the go. The B3 have a quirky fit in my ears and the bass is a little to lean when there is alot of outside noise. I love the sound of the KC06 but the design is just strange. However comfortable but the big downfall is the isolation and sound leakage which is very poor.

My absolute favourite iem is the TDK ie800. It sounds so damn good to my ears and it is my go to iem for reference. Perfect bass, perfect detail, perfect articulation.. However as so many other iems it´s useless on the go. The cables are very microphonic and they stick out quite alot from your ears. And they match poorly with most DAPS since they are only 10 ohms. ( sounds fine with the Xduoo x2  and garbage with an ipod classic for example )

I don´t expect the Vsd5 to sound as good as the ie800 ( to my ears ) but i  think it might ad a touch of fun and comfortable portable listening without any real issues.

I have the vsonic vc02 and the vsd1s, both have their pros and cons but i don´t really enjoy them as much as the kc06 or the tdk ie800.

I would absolutely, positively not do that!

Wait, why do I have so many IEM? And why did I just pre-order VSD2 and VSD2S?

Definitely not the Martini I had after work wink_face.gif

Naahh, Its the audioholic that seduced the audiophile in you. Dont blame it on the a-a-a-aa-aa-alcohol.

Haha. I ordered the vsd2. Whether 2s as well? Auditioning the 1s sounded a bit bloated...

I was debating a lot whether to get the VSD2 and AN16 package but decided that I am very happy with the VSD5 for now and will pass on the VSD2. If I want another Vsonic I think it will be one of the higher end ones (VSD7 most likely). The free AN16 was very tempting though.

I was thinking if i should get the VSD5 but i was really happy with VSD3, so at that time i decided to wait for something as good as GR07 BE (VSD7 or VSD9).

But the AN16 is so tempting that i got both VSD2 and VSD2S.

There is going to be a GR07 special edition with VSD9 driver. Lets wait for that.
