Some very bold statements you got there  But honestly the build quality is in respective to what activities you are performing with the earphones. If you are doing heavy and intensive activities such as sports, you may want to invest in earphones are built better because no matter how careful you are with the VDS5, its not going to survive with the constant contact your receiving. The KC06a on the other hand may potentially last abit longer.

Thanks guys for replays, actually I listened X1 a little bit with CAL and I like the sound more and more, but they'are definitely have too much bass. Not enough definitely of bass control, there's bass where it shouldn't be, even on acoustic guitar I hear some kind of "buzz". Some records sounds amazing, some not, of course you can adjust equalizer a little bit for every record but it's not very good idea. I think, maybe I should take away X1 and buy X3K with KC06 or VSD5? Some people said that KC06A are very good for metal because of better low freqs, where KC06 more balanced and better for "light" genres like jazz, blues and classical music, but some people actually said that KC06 actually great for metal because of good tone balance. So what shoud I get? X3K for sure is a better device with CS4398 onboard and even better sound management.

It depends on their taste. There are a lot of people who put bass response as a primary key for listening metal music. I will never understand them:tongue_smile:

As an Etymotic fan I would go with KC06 if it hadn't such bright signature. KC06A has too much bass in my opinion

For technical music, I really prefer multi-BA IEM. Bass is much faster and tighter than any DD IEM I've tried. Constraint there is it kicks you into a higher price bracket.

If you're sticking with DD IEM, then a few more to consider would be: Brainwavz S0 or S5 or TTPOD T1E.

S0 is on Massdrop for 29.99 right now. Can't beat that.

Well, actually you can if you sign up for mp4nation's newsletter wink_face.gif

But yes, at that price I'd certainly pick up a pair L3000.gif

I'm looking for X3K and Dunu DN-1000 currently. I heard that it's very good headphones, but I can't listen to it before buying it so it's sad :( but I really want to check out hybrids.

FWIW, I prefer TPEOS Altone200 to DN1000.

:( it's so hard to choose between models when you cannot use them before the puchase. DN-1000 is easier to buy for myself when TPEOS is only available from China (15-50 days to deliver). Maybe there more good hybrids from ~150 to 200 dollars? Or Maybe not hybrids... Actually I'm definitely going to buy X3ii, but WHAT HEADPHONES to buy is a real pain in the butt. Looking for VSonic VSD5, Ostry KC06, Dunu Titan 1, Dunu DN-1000, Brainwawz S5... and much more. Music is still metal (primary).

DN-1000 and T-Peos Altone200 are almost on level playing fields imo (are just are on the same playing field). Some prefer DN-1000 over the Altone, both do admirably with metal though
I can't elaborate since I don't have the DN-1000 anymore but it was a great IEM

Thank you for answer. Objectively, is the difference in price between just good dynamic driver (like KC06) and hybrid (like DN-1000) justified? Or I can buy pretty cheap one dynamic driver earphones and still be happy (never listened any really good dynamic headphones, my best headphones ever is CAL, BA is only in dreams :)
