Have look at the Redmi 2, cheap at price and nice audio quality, You can find it on GSMarena with graph and details. See the review.

IMO, get a new phone with a better DAC (iPhone, Galaxy with V4A) and you'll be a happy camper. Moto G has a terrible DAC/amp I agree

Really? I feel the Moto G is pretty solid. Its a bit bright, but clean sounding. Its also powerful enough to drive some thirty full sized headphones decently, like the AKG 512 mk2 I had until thus past Xmas.

My last pair was the Shure SE215k, I lost/forgot it somewhere during a trip for work. I considered buying it again having used it since 2013 until I started reading about VSonic within the past 3 weeks. My preference in music is quite wide and I can't be carrying multiple IEM's for specific genre like some of the guys here. I mostly use it for work, school, and anywhere else when I'm not sitting on my desktop with the DT 990 attached.

My thought process was:
-Get VSD5 and spend the rest on some tips.
-Get GR07 Bass Edition and hope for the best.

Be my verdict! Thanks.
I would get the vsd5's

Thanks mate, but if you have both, will you click a pic? if not, its fine. I just had some doubts, now i think what i have is a VSD5. It came in a box reading VSD5, but specs says only 4 pair of ear tips and mine came with an additional pair of foam tips too. Vsd3 says exactly. So i had doubts.

With my pairs, the VSD3 are darker and much less translucent making it hard to see the internals. With the VSD5, I can very easily see all the internals.

Is it worth upgrading from VSD3s to Vasd5? how much worth is it?

is it true that VSD5 is as good as the GR07 bass edition?

I prefer the VSD5 over the VSD3 for sure. But there is quite a difference in sound signature so it is kind of hard to call it a direct upgrade. I would say technically it is better.

As for the comparison with GR07BE, I still think GR07 is better in terms of neutrality and naturalness of sound but the VSD5 is a bit more fun to listen to. They are close in technical performance.

My first impression is fairly positive, but i dont think ex-1000 was like this. Bass was tighter or say faster, Mids had more air, highs were similar. Similarly sparky. I like these highs, cuts like a Katana, nicely detailed and i like its sound stage too. Over all its fun and still fairly detailed. If i compare it with S5 i think S5 was lacking some resolution up top, bass was slightly lose.

Me likey.

Thanks mate, I went with the VSD5. My friend bought the GR07 Bass Edition. Will compare at a later time.
