Clip+. I can't think of any reason to use anything else. Cheap, easy to use, small, and you can get plenty of storage space on there with a SD card.

Yep. That's the reason a ton of people use it for portable use like the gym and a component in their main portable audio setup. Very good SQ for a low price with a very small footprint.

If you can find one, grab an ipod shuffle 1G. Great little player. Long battery life, tiny and easy to use. Sounds as good as any ipod in my opinion.

Shuffle 1g or Clip. I don't think there's much point in going for anything too hifi if it's just for working out though

I think the sansa clip will be suitable for working out...otherwise the Apple iPod Shuffle.
