Hi. I recently built a Corda Ha1 MkII amplifier exactly according to Jan Meier's instructions and I must say that I'm impresed with it. Thanks again Jan. Very clean sound, no distortions and hum at all. I've made my own design of the PCB and the opamps are on sockets. It's almost there in terms of good sound. My only complaints ( might be because of my design) are:
The bass is a touch ( just a touch ) lean and the highs are sibilant at times with my new player (NAD C521BEE). That might be because of my phones - DT880's. With my old player Sony DVP-NS310 the bass was with greater impact but also bloated and the highs were more sibilant. So I'm searching for a little more CLEAN bass and the highs to be more harmonious. I know it seems that everyone is searching for this but my only desicions at the moment are:
1. Soldering another BUF634P on the original ones
2. Change the LM6171 with OPA627 (with or without adjusting the gain
3. Changing the Power supply and the signal path capacitors in my NAD 521BEE
What do you think would be the best decision?
Oh... And how could I adjust the gain so the pot works in the middle range- at the moment it sounds too loud at just 70-90 degrees after the start.
Thanks.
