DAC and power requirements

Thread Starter
Several years ago I purchased a DAC. I never liked how it sounded. (Thin sound no bass) I was taking another look at it today and noticed it is rated for 230 V and I have been using it on 110 V outlets. What would be the effect on the sound of this power mismatch.

I know you can buy voltage step up/ down voltage transformers like this one from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Simran-AC-500-Voltage-Converter-Transformer/dp/B004MPR3XQ

I would guess this will help. How close to full sound quality can I expect to get?

Thanks
Mike

I would check with the manufacturer - it may have switchable voltage..
