In that case I suppose DN-1000 would have been the best choice for you.

I listen mostly to to Hard Rock like 3 Days Green, Seether, etc, Alternative Rock and Jazz. I use FiiO X3 + iFi iCan Nano.

Edit: DN-1000 has much better treble than fx850.

Haha. Thanks for the offer but no thanks ;p the 750 has the better highs compared to the 850. Cymbals and tablas sound great. I bought these 3 iems hoping to forget one darn good one! Damn you Monster Cable for discontinuing some fine set of earphones!

Edit. In retrospect, the titans and dn2k are complimentary. The dn2k bass is more textured and its highs are laid back. While the titans got more tilted energy in the high end and more quantity in bass (perhaps more since I haven't listened to these for a while now).

I've always been more into laid back detailed iems, and the mids from the dn2k are certainly agreeable to my ears. Jazz and pop vocal sound cinematic smooth, classical and death metal sound super orchestrated, and choir works sound discernable with each section perfectly laid out.

I might give the dn1000 a listen in the future...but I am quite content with the fx750 with its totally fun warm sound.

If you wanted me to buy the dn1000, you'll have to fund me in getting the dn2000j as well so I can say that I'm a fully fledged Dunu Fan Boi!

You think of DN-1000 as a downgrade from DN-2000. It depends of personal preference. DN-1000 is a basshead IEM with an analytical level of detail retrieval. Best of both worlds. You should have a look at my review from my sig.

so you are a bass head too.. are these dn-1000 fatiguing? i find a73 fatigue my ears, and xb90ex dont fatigue my ears almost at all. 90ex are no where near as detailed as a73 but they have two important advantages they have lots of bass and two more important dont fatigue my ears. i cant see myself using fidue a73 often, xb90 is my main earphone simply cause it does bass and doesnt fatigue my ears almost at all. a73 is sometimes when i want to listen to detail. so i keep both i think. so dn-1000 is definitelly has lots of bass? sort of like asg 2.5 ? thanks

No no no. Don't put words in my mouth now. I started this crazy "audiophile" quest after my 4th replacement of trumpets iem died on me. They basically were gonna offer me a lifetime worth of replacements (better deal than hifiman iems). I was looking for something similar in terms of ss... but that's not realistic as some vets here would say.

I'm more interested in the dn2000j at this more than the 1000. I'm just not sure its bright signature would sit well with me since I have little tolerance for sibilance.

I used to have the Trumpets. Man, Monster hasn't made any interesting earphones in a while.

If you like bass, I was told that 2000J has less bass than Titan 1.

Yeah, it's the detailed bass that compensates for the lack of impact. Perhaps it's the high level of resolution that tickles my fancy... alas, I'm short of funds after 4 iem purchases since the beginning of the year - the next purchase will have to wait.

No, they are not fatiguing at all and yes, they have lots of bass (with the right tips like JVC Spiral Dots for eg.). Haven't heard ASG 2.5. And yes, I'm a basshead and more so since I got the DN-1000.
