I preordered from pricejapan.com. It costs a bit extra to ship it to the U.S., but I'm too impatient to wait for a U.S. release....

I did a search on this thread but haven't found anything conclusive. Anyone know what the rated output impedance will be for this DAP on the normal 3.5mm output? I'm looking for a low output impedance dap to drive my jh13.

is true that the WMC-NWH10 depletes the player's battery faster than using a fiio L5 LOD?

if any one can ask my question about the DIGITAL OUT cable vs the ANALOGUE OUT be either F880, A10 or ZX1,ZX2 thanks

Yes digital out drains out at a prodigious rate. Ruined the ZX1 for me. Line out gave no issue. No idea why digital out uses so much power compared to other DAPS.

Thanks mate for the info, then I'll go Fiio L5 LOD

yes me too, i am baffled why sony's digital out consumes more power if it's bypassing the D/A Conversion and amplification altogether, perhaps the dongle has a chip that uses power on the sony (I saw on here but don't rmemeber what forum that this WMC-NWH10 had a chip inside)

Battery drain with USB OTG could be a kernel thing, maybe not much could be done unless we root an Android device then do something similar to this?

Let's say we just go all out at the beginning and no power management would be engaged. Once the USB OTG device is connected successfully, the power management would kick in so that battery drain could be minimized while the connection could be kept alive.

Other than that, is there anything like Deep Sleep?

Well I preordered one... I know it's an expensive player, and there is much uncertainty as to how it will sound, but I am banking on it sounding at least marginally better than the ZX1 did- enough to cause me to not miss the DX90 hopefully (it's for sale)! The slick UI, design, presence now of a micro SD card slot, battery time, are all just part of what makes the whole package pretty darn enticing to me. Seems I'll have a Z player again soon enough.

What would make it truly special if Sony stopped using Android and make it an audio player exclusively. No Internet etc.

We don't know yet if that's true for the ZX2, right..?

That's called airplane mode...

If only that were true.

But it isn't...

Well, this will mean no possibility to install "CD-Quality" streaming applications like QOBUZ or TIDAL !   bad move IMO......

True.
But I use my iPod touch with camera connector and my ifi Nano to stream Qobuz..
Great battery life compared to Sony by the way.

Its like my alternative portable set up and works really well. Qobuz is pretty good.

Happy to have two set ups.
Main one for my own files and a streaming set up for new stuff I do not own.
