All this talk of clocks.

As long as the ZX2 sounds as good as this:

I'll buy one

Naughty naughty Mython no full size dcs boards in a portable thread....

Comparing a DCS Vivaldi to ZX2... I suppose you want this to come in under $1k as well

Gold star to harmonix for correctly recognising the board!  I only posted it as an anti-dote to the frankly excessive amounts of koolaid in this thread.

And yeah, joking aside, you already know I want it to come in under $1k

I've been jonesin' for a good android dap so I could use my google play subscription. Add to that the mSDcard slot and it seems we have a winner. But, saddling it with a proprietary connector instead of USB is just silly. does it offer some benefit over usb that I cannot see? what does it connect to other than a usb port on my pc?

Perhaps my money is better spent on a pair of JH audio IEM's.

With 2 sequential leads (WMC-NWH10 and USB adapter), the WMPort can be made to function with an external DAC, such as the Hugo, but there is no specific benefit to the proprietary WMPort, really, other than to satisfy the bean-counters at Sony. And up until now (and it may or may not continue), Sony have been absurdly resistant to making the appropriate lead globally available.

Judging by your avatar pic, you are an X5 owner.

Perhaps the X7 might be your best solution.

but there is no specific benefit to the proprietary WMPort,

Well there is some slight advantage, it saves space by combining line out into the same port, it is beefier and less prone to damage than a mini usb port, and uhh it feels better when connecting to the sony dock with a nice beefy port rather than a micro usb port dock. Really stretching to find some positives here

Well I preordered one... I know it's an expensive player, and there is much uncertainty as to how it will sound, but I am banking on it sounding at least marginally better than the ZX1 did- enough to cause me to not miss the DX90 hopefully (it's for sale)! The slick UI, design, presence now of a micro SD card slot, battery time, are all just part of what makes the whole package pretty darn enticing to me. Seems I'll have a Z player again soon enough.

Curious to know where you pre-ordered from?

All I've found are articles saying it will be available for pre-order on 1/29:

I'm really curious about the ZX2 vs AK120II—especially since they seem to be priced quite similarly. Sound quality aside, the battery life of the ZX2 would appear to be a huge advantage compared to the AK. It seems like I just amass more and more devices that need to be charged up more and more often. Having a DAP that only needs to be charged up once every 60 hours? That'd go a long way towards alleviating such a hated first world problem.
