will the zx2 hit all the points i look for in a dap compared to all other daps in the market

1- warm

2- rich full layered sound

3- good soundstage

4- analogue sounding

5- detailed  but not analytical

6- can drive audeze lcd2 rev2

7- works great with shure 846

8- has a great eq

9- great low end punch ( bass )

10- can i connect it balanced to my alo mk3 amp

can the zx2 meet all the above, i dont care about battery life or ui

all i care about are the 10 points above, or is there a better dap to meet the 10 points above

you can check the Cowon P1 for the sound enhancements ... but for driving audeze lcd2 and shure 846 i would recommend you getting a quality DAC/AMP amp with a cheap android player or phone loaded with Jet audio player and effects or ipod touch 5 with sound enhancements apps

Do you even realize that no dap on the planet has balanced line output? 901, Pono and AK daps have a balanced headphone out, but no balanced line out. The only solution I know of is RWAK mod by Vinnie which adds a balanced line out to AK240, that's $3300 all up modded. Lol. Your better off getting a ZX2 + PHA-3 for a balanced setup.

I have a AK120 II and it does have line-out on both SE and Balanced ports.

None of the AK daps actually have a true line out, SE or balanced, both still go through the same amplification circuit as HO. So lame.

Just received this:

Although not as tough as a glass protector, I really love how it feels to touch and more importantly that it hardly leaves any fingerprints on the surface, very impressive!

How do you see the screen? I used a paper bag but I think yours provides more protection.

With special hi-tech nano-laser glasses, of course

Soldering 3.5 mm TRRS jack take some skill and not as easy task.  Here what I used.

Ordered two....destroyed one in the process.  But now I have a separated ground cable to go with my JH13pro FP & ZX2.:D

Where and how much? BTW, are you still enamored with the Encores and ZX2 pairing?

^they look good, those plugs, although they are very tricky to solder. I have one of these TRRS plugs on the way, it looks authentic.

The Encores are without doubt the most refined CIEMS I have had the pleasure to listen to, and I have listened to many... After so many years in the hobby I know what I want and only when I hear a true substantial improvement I change components in my audio systems, after purchasing the EarSonics EM3pros I continued to audition ciems but non presented as a real upgrade until I found one 3 years after when I heard the Encores, I immediately purchased them. The ZX2 is also one of those components that have proved to be worthy of an upgrade to me, now pair the two together and my portable system is at a level I thought impossible, they both are the top of portable audio reproduction and I think many years will pass until they are surpassed, perhaps impossible.... again.

You're correct, but you still get the required line level voltage (2.1V, I guess) when in LO mode.

my ZX2 is burning-in... got mine from Price Japan (ZX2, Dock, Case, 2no. Screen-Protectos & FedEx ship) for a total of £870-$1270  (Customs free)... UK cost of the ZX2 £945-$1383.

was really sibilant at first but now it's settled down a bit, awesome bass, not doing much listening in truth...the Dock is a boon, one cable connection to my Hugo, deep joy...
