Not referring to a 'basshead' type bass but yeah. I wouldn't want to give up more than I had to if you are listening to music. It even adds depth to classical and symphonic type things.

The response curve on the 701 looks pretty nice.  :)

Q or K?

No problem, thanks for the help. I have just ordered the K712's so hopefully they will be what I'm looking for!

I received them today and I have to say they are pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Great bass that is refined and has a good presence but doesn't overpower the mids/highs. Mids are very clear and these actually let me hear things that I haven't in other headphones, some that were even more expensive. I like the highs, they may be a tad bright in some songs but in the majority of my listening so far they are very nice and revealing without being harsh. The sound stage is magnificent and the headphone overall isn't right up in my face it's like I'm sitting a couple rows back, which is what I like so it's great!

I have two problems with them right now (one isn't with the headphone I guess), I need an amp (or will the motherboard that I'm getting power it better?) and they fit kind of loose overall because my head is on the small side. I think I'm going to go for the O2 amp because it is a 3.5mm input instead of the rca's on the schiit products if I get an amp. Is there any way to tighten the fit of the headphone?

Also, I'm listening to these straight from my laptop and when I turn it up say about 40% or higher which is still a good listening level I hear a little hiss in the background. Will this be fixed by using an amp or what is wrong?

Okay after more time with these I really like the sound overall, the bass is a bit lacking for me in the sub bass (will amping make the bass more present and have more body?) mostly but other than that they are very revealing and sound amazing.

I think I may have to go with a different headphone though because of the fit, it is soooo loose on my head. There isn't really any clamp (which is normally good) so the headphones move around with minimal movement of the head.

If I were to switch what headphone would you recommend? I want the same exact sound as these (or as close as possible) maybe a little more bass/sub bass. The sound stage is great and they sound like I'm a couple rows back as I said before in my previous post and I love it.
