I just got this headphone and while the comfort is ok, I was just curious if such replacements could be found.
I know KAM supposedly sells replacement earpads, but I assume they are the same material as the stock pads.
So just an update...
The Samson SR850/950 velour velvet pads came in.
Though they do fit the KAM HP-1 perfectly, they basically kill the sound of the headphone.
The stock pads have a very thin piece of fabric sewed into the earpad which covers the driver.
The replacement pads don't have any center fabric but instead include a circular dampening fabric which is much thicker than the stock fabric (problem 1).
The stock pads also have more cushion to them than the replacement pads (problem 2).
Problem 1 caused the sound to be destroyed mostly - the clarity was mostly gone, the bass (already light) was now non-existent.
Problem 2 killed the sound stage - basically took them from a headphone that sounded partially open to an old radio playing next to you (or in the next room because of problem 1 really..)
If a different center fabric was used, problem 1 may be solved, but without more cushion to the pad, the sound stage is still going to suffer.
Samson SR850/950 replacement pads (not stock) fit perfectly but provide far worse sound from the KAM HP-1.
