need a cable for recess the midrange on hd650

I have some trouble with midrange on hd650 , after listening to them i feel headhache and I'd like the midrange to be less bloated ( maybe i should stick with hd600 , but overall improvement from them make me want to try solve the hd650 mids problem )
i know maybe it's only a problem of me / my ears
anyway what cable should i get instead of the stock for recess mids ( or close a bit them as they seem too much open and overbloated for me ) on hd650 ?
thanks

What is your source? I took a look at your profile, maybe it's time for an upgrade there?

A recessed midrange quality is kind of a large sound change in my opinion. Cables will have minimal effect to that compared to changing source, amp, or tubes.

How many hours do you have on the 650s? I did have an issue with the midrange sounding bloated and muffled when I first got them. I didn't have a problem with forwardness, but they have always been a bit more forward than the 600s in the midrange. No cable or source I've tried has changed that, though I still wouldn't call them forward compared to say Grados. After about 300 hours or runtime and a switch to the Cardas cable, the midrange cleared up perfectly (I didn't think the Equinox did as good a job here), and the highs and soundstage also opened up. They sound much more natural and detailed than the 600s now.

If you dont like the 650 sound now, I doubt a cable upgrade will help that much that you would suddenly like the sound of your headphones. Maybe changing to a different kind of headphones would be a better idea.

Recessed midrange with the HD650? That's kinda odd. Maybe it's your source more so than the senns. Have they been burned in? I would never have considered the senns to have a "recessed midrange". Looks to me like you will need to change either your source or your cans. By the way, what amp are you using?

I think judging by his thread in the headphone forum,(cure for forward midrange in 650) he thinks the mids are to forward in the 650.

I changed interconnect cables ( going form 20$ ic to a 100$ ic )
sound is changed as night and day ..
now much more acceptable to my ears .
I think it's also the RP5 I'm pairing senn with now that is an ultra sensible amp .

I happen to love the Senns, with or without the aftermarket cable. So, any money I spend toward it would be to improve upon a sound I already like.

In anycase, I think you should really think about whether or not the Senns are for you. It may be a better idea to invest in other headphones, rather than throwing out more money in an attempt to "fix" the Senns (it'll like fixing something that's not broken). Hey, it's perfectly ok for you not to like the HD650. Although it's beyond me how anyone (with a certain amount of good taste and decent hearing) could not simply fall in love with the sound of the HD650.
