Is any way the player at 90% in High gain to destroy the lcd-2?i tried that volume for about 30 sec and suddenly the left side stopped playing for ever....I am in communication with Audeze to see what happened..

Under regular playback condition, 90% in High Gain from N6 should be well within the handling power limit of the LCD-2. I cannot imagine N5 will over-drive LCD-2 to destroy it. I hope your LCD-2 will be able to recover promptly.

Merry Christmas

On behalf of Cayin, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. I know we are always busy this holiday season, especially when Christmas is not a public holiday in Mainland China :p, but I want to take the time to wish you and yours, happy holidays. This is a special day for family and friends, there isn't anything can't wait until tomorrow, so relax and hug your beloveds around you, play some music, and enjoy the moment together.

I just had a wonderful Christmas dinner with my family. We were a bit late this year as my niece just arrived from LA this morning, but family is always worth waiting for, and good music will make the dinner ever more involving and pleasant. This is one of the playlist that I appreciated during the holiday season and I want to share this with you.

Hi, i have problem with my N6. The player will restart if i play a song and plug headphone in. If i just play a song without headphone or just plug headphone without play anything it worked fine. Have tried with different headphone and same result, restart everytime i play a song.
Anyone know how to fix it?

Haven't considered buying N6 before I listened to it... Well, happy birthday to me, now I got it. Sold my QA360 and bought N6. It's a great player, I haven't heard anything better. But those who developed its design must burn in hell, why would they make a round main menu?

John Grandberg has reviewed the N6 back in Oct 2015 (InnerFidelity), the review was very favorable and John has reviewed several Cayin products after that.

John has posted his third round of DAP survey last week and we are grateful that he has mentioned Cayin N6 again in his conclusion:

Cayin N6 - The N6 is a solid performer which actually comes extremely close to Wall of Fame status. It's got a powerful output capable of driving most headphones quite nicely, along with an organic, crowd-pleasing tonal balance well suited for long-term listening. The only things really holding it back are the somewhat plain UI and general size/weight of the design. Battery life is mediocre which I admit is the norm for these devices, but I'd like to see that improve across the board. All things considered—especially the price which is lower than most competitors—the N6 is definitely worth a listen if you can handle those relatively minor downsides.

N6 is Cayin's first DAP (2014 December) and it is relatively aged in the market. We are grateful that N6 has been loved by the HeadFi community over such a long period. Lots of new flagship products have emerged in past 2 years and N6 has inevitably show its teeth on various issues as John has described, however Cayin is still confident that N6 is still one of the best sounding DAP at its price range.

We are working with Massdrop on a N6 drop right now, for those who are interested in the N6, maybe this is a good time to snap it, especially for location where N6 is not directly available:

Andykong,
I am a happy user of N6 for more than a year and still love it.
Will Cayin be planning to launch a new DAP, which is better than N6?
