Computer Based System Tuning?

Thread Starter
I was wondering if anyone was aware of software that could be used with a laptop/microphone to assist with speaker placement and room tuning. I know there are dedicated hardware devices that do this (although if someone could remind me of what they're called & who makes them, I'd appreciate it).

I'm mostly interested in tuning speaker positioning for bass extension.

Yep, I've checked the asylum speaker positioning faqs already.

I think there is some software called REL/CARAS 3.0 speaker placement software. Its like a CAD program where you input your room dimensions, speaker ratings and furniture and build a virtual room .

Go to www.rivesaudio.com and look under products. They have some computer programs as well as testing hardware.
