Grado boxes? - Page 2

Thanks I just got them today and was scared that the vinyl headband would be too lax to hold them, sorry for the dumb question I found some tight wood boxes by the way if you'd like to take a look, these guys take special requests...

If you guys are really considering having a box made, why not check with Larry (Xanadu777) and see if he will make some? I am sure there are many RS-1 users who would like a box, esp a mohagonny one.

just my 2 cents
(and yes, I do have a Grado wood box and paid a pretty penny for it)

Yeah, Why doesn't John Grado give those away with the Headphones? He must be cheap or something.

For the kind of customer service you get with grado I deff wouldn't call them cheap. I personally would take the case over the 1/8 adapter and 15ft ex cable but I'm sure if the went back to sending it in a case instead of the cables people would complain about that lol.

Lol, you know when you're an addicted head-fier when the prices of all other products are directly related back to headphones. I generally think in the same respect when I pay my insurance bill or watch the taxes fly out of my paycheck

I purchased a wooden box at Michael's Arts and Crafts. Cost around $7.00 unfinished. I stained it with oak stain, covered it with about 5 coats of polyuerathane, used the foam inserts of my SR-225s, and added a nice decorative clasp to the front. Total cost was about $15.

any **** for that?

and sigh.. unfortunately where i live the DIY market is hardly as vibrant.

EDIT: FWIW, i'm currently using my aluminium dt880 box to carry my ms-2s. surprisingly, the original dt880 foam insert in the box also fits the ms-2, albeit not perfectly.

and if you're wondering now where i keep my dt880.. it doesnt exist as a functional headphone anymore.
