JDS labs won me over while i was watching one of their biographical vids on YouTube concerning the growing of their business and having to expand square footage for operational reasons. An honest group of guys, putting out great product IMO. Since i have never seen, felt, touched or heard the C5D. I  am a little hesitant over the purchase. I can not get over the specs / cost ratio though, it seems like such a solid buy! :). I currently own the FIIO E12 and love it need to run a higher quality DAC which leads to me to ask If anyone has a C5D which they have paired to an Iphone 5 Specifically, your feedback would be invaluable. The size of the case is perfect, asynch usb for pc, plenty of power. DAC is what i have read to be one of the best again for the price point, I just cant stop thinking how nice that would be to camel back my phone to it connect one wire and your off to the races . Anyway thanks for reading.

Hi!

The C5D is for sure my favorite portable DAC/Amp and I use it with an iPhone6 currently can drive pretty much any headphone and the bass switch is a welcomed addition though hardly needed.

What would you like to know? Couldn't make out what your question was from your post....

Cheers,

K

Would you mind telling me what interconnect you use between your iphone 6 and the C5D?  Also why/how you bought the JDS Labs C5D and not one of the countless other portable amp/dacs out there.

I searched Google far and wide to try and find that link for you.. no luck. Went to headphones as well and Looked at their C5D review to see if it was embedded in there.

Please find the photo attached.

I use mini USB to USB, then Lightning to Camera USB connection kit directly into my iPhone.

That way the DAC and amp from the C5D is used.

 Why I chose the C5D:

- best value for money in my mind

- amazing black background even with sensitive IEMs

- works with my iPhone AND Mac/PC

- has enough juice to even drive my T90

- I got a good deal on a group p buying website

Cheers,

K

Great Pic, thank you for posting it. Would you recommend spending decent money on the Mini USB to USB cable like yours as seen in picture???

How does it compare to the Headstage Arrow solely in terms of amplification ability?

Price bracket and portability wise along with the SQ, I agree, C5D is a true gem

I do not own the product your asking about , would not want to comment on the performance of an item I'm not familiar with .

How does this unit compare to the FIIO E17 or Alo The Island? I'm wondering if I should upgrade for my AKG K712 pro's

I think that is a great question, would love to know that answer if anyone owns the E17 or Island?

I'm thinking the island and the c5D are on a another level compared to the E17 , I'm saying this with no dislike to the FIIO Product matter of fact I'd like to purchase the e17 when I have the funds to do so .

That's my impression as well but I would love to hear from some people who have used them both
