The HDTracks Black Sabbath is great. Excellent Dynamic Range.

Thanks for that and I can attest as well.

Some of you are making the jump from owning music to renting it, I remember having difficulty going from physical to digital! I miss all the great inserts and artwork and especially special/collectors editions which I used to always wait for that very reason!

Plus, I mean...it's Sabbath. The metal godfathers are great even over a crackly radio.

So true.

I don't own very many high-resolution albums. I can't really hear a difference in bit-rates passed a modern 256kb/s codec. So I tend to just stay at normal res FLAC.

However, some bands I splurge on, especially if their HD versions are mastered really well. The 24/44.1 Beatles collection I have, and the HDTracks Black Sabbath collection are some of those. To me, it's worth the lost storage space. Hell, I even went all the way up to 24/96 on Sabbath. Even though I could never hear the difference from, say 16/44.1. I went big, just because I like them so much. :D

Yeah, different strokes. I am a photographer by trade and actively manage about ten years worth of work. Hundreds of thousands of images per year need to be catalogued, backed up, and managed. I do not want to even remotely think about doing the same for my music hobby.

Tidal and Spotify are fantastic for me.

So my issue I posted about with the U12 ADEL was resolved in a nearly perfect manner by 64 Audio.

I had noticed a small chip in my U12's acrylic housing, likely from them clanking together or something. I never dropped them, and it's a real bummer seeing that happen to a $1600 pair of luxury headphones. I was a bit dismayed from the brand in general after this experience... that was, until I dealt with support.

I emailed 64 and within an hour got a response from a tech. They told me to ship them to them, which I overnighted at my cost. Since only one side was aesthetically damaged, they said the turn-around would be 3-5 days. After further inspections, the right side wasn't matched tonally with the left, so they wanted to replace both sides. The only problem is that I had the ADEL unit, not Apex, and wanted to keep my ADEL. They totally replaced both sides under warranty in about a weeks time, and shipped them back to me overnighted via FexEx. I'm assuming they're 3D printing shells in house because that is one hell of a turnaround time on IEM shells they no longer produce.

I got a daily update from the team via email the entire time. Isabel even emailed me from the road at 9pm at night on their drive back from NAMM.

Just insane levels of service all around. I essentially have a brand new pair of U12 ADELs for the price of overnight shipping. I couldn't be happier.

In my experience their service has always been exemplary. Really good Company to deal with if any issues arise

IMO and many others including many experts in the field, FLAC 16/44 CD rips are ideal and when you go up to higher bitrate vinyl rips it isn't actually better.  To my ears 16/44.1 cd rips sound better than vinyl rips anyday and SACD sounds better than everything.

I've also got several chips near the sound bores of mine, I've just decided to live with it until I get a second set of CIEMs-I don't want to be without my CIEMs for a even a day otherwise it's skull candy.  If you scroll to the bottom of my A12 review you can see the chips (which appeared a few months after I had them) also the soundbores were sloppily bored which makes cleaning the wax out a pain in the butt but again I've decided to live with it until I have a second pair to hold me over while the A12's are being repaired.  Their support is very good and I'm sure they'll take care of me when I decide to send them in. .

Who said anything about vinyl?

I do have a few vinyl rips, but that's not what I was talking about. I only find vinyl rips superior for some modern music, where good HDR masters don't exist in digital format.

I did!

Storage space is so cheap now and only getting cheaper, I suppose we can indulge to our heart's content!

When I got better and better equipment, my enjoyment of a lot of modern music went down, because of the level of compression in their mastering. Suddenly I could hear how bad it was. Sia became nearly un-listenable. So I found a vinyl rips of 1000 Forms of Fear, and could enjoy it again. :)

It's FLAC, and you can convert it to standard 16/44.1. It's all the same to me.

so I tested again, and the mam modules are with the knob in, not out. And with this, I hear a small background noise, but not when pushing my CIEM in the ears, as if there were a seal problem, but I don't have this issue with default module (S1 if I remember well)

Yea the only modern music I listen to is metal, pop makes me want to tear my CIEMs out.  All my vinyl rips sound quieter overall with less dynamics and "oomph"  than my 16/44 flac rips.
