I would like one for under $300 . For the purpose of eventually getting higher bitrate music on my iPhone 5s, I would prefer a non-micro usb cable connection. It would plug into a camera connector, which only accepts normal usb, I believe.

Be cheaper just to get a FiiO X1 ($99) for all your music needs.

Would it work well with my Senn. Hd650's?

I would think the FiiO X1 can decently drive your 300-Ohm HD650s.
But I would think you would want something with a more powerful headphone amplifier, for 300-Ohm headphones, to make sure your getting the best out of the HD650s.
Not sure if the X3 has more power then the X1?

You might consider read up and asking about headphone amplifiers for the HD650s, on this thread.

If it's for home use a DAC-HPamp would be better without considerations for keeping the whole system pocketable, you get to keep the iPhone's touchscreen interface; also, for those who rely on iTunes and would pull their hair out when they have to drag and drop and manually, plus streaming/NAS access.

Check this thread and see what has been confirmed compatible with iOS devices on iOS7 and CCK's, but generally any DAC that won't need power off the iOS device and has no specific drivers that need to be installed should work. Just to start you off, look into the Meier PCStep and JDS C5D - if you find no threads that confirm it you can always check with the manufactuers.

Oh and if you are going to use these at home, get a sync dock - you can connect the CCK to the dock's port, the same way I did so with the CCK on my iPad and the OTG adapter on my Android.
