Italy is playing really well against Swedes and will more than likely win. They did take a couple of really stupid yellow cards, but otherwise they are in top form. Hmm... it's actually odd how much better they are playing now that Totti is sitting in the audience

BTW, I*m sure you've seen this...

beautiful goal by Ibrahimovic. can't say i'd blame Buffon, though, or even Vieri who failed to clear it off the line. if i were Italian, i'd be up in arms over Trapattoni's decision to take off Antonio Cassano midway through the second half. they brought him in after a dull match against Denmark, he scores ... and they take him right off again? by the time Sweden equalized, Italy had taken off he and Alex Del Piero and didn't have the players to find another goal. the Azzurri need to listen to the Italian press and public and start attacking the game instead of sitting back and relying upon their defense. Buffon, Nesta, Cannavaro, Panucci -- they're among the best in the world but they can't win the match by themselves.

!

that surge by sweden (clearly the less talented team) really was amazing. They just poured it on and were relentless. Ljunberg played really well and i think sparked his team on.

those italians play great defense but they are by far the dirtiest team i've seen so far. cheap ass fouls. I hated defenders who played like that when i was a striker, and i love seeing them eat crow by an amazing feat of athleticism!

WHAT A GOAL!

For sure luck was heavily on Ibrahimovic's side when he attempted that totally outrageous shot. Who would have thought, a jumping heel kick that even went over Vieri's head guarding the post. But it was certainly a mistake by Italy to go all defensive with 20 mins left which invited Sweden to toss in every offensive player they could get in there and simply took over the midfield for the rest of the match. Add to that one man's nerve to even attempt something that crazy in that crucial a situation and we have a goal for the highlights for years to come.

Sweden is in fact a very well playing team, and I really like theyy're style. I hope Denmark and Sweden will go on from groupe C.
Currently, after two playinrounds Denmark and Sweden are leading with 4 points each, Itally with two and Bulgaria with zero. We're playing Sweden Tuesday, where Itally also plays Bulgaria. It would be awesome if Bulgaria would woop the Italians, 'cause then both SE and DK would go to the 1/8 finals. I doubt that's gonna happen though. A tight game isn't unlikely, but that would be a pisser 'cause than there would be 3 teams with equal points.
I hope things will turn out good Tuesday -- meaning Denmark and Sweaden move on in the tournament.

The swedish game was awesome btw. It was like 5 minuttes before time. it look so cool the way he made the goal.

i don't think it was a lucky shot just because it was a difficult one. Ibrahimovic knew that the Italian keeper was off his line, and that he had to get a shot in quickly, without turning to face goal. his best chance was to try a looping shot that would get over any outfield players standing on the line, and that's exactly what he accomplished. maybe he could never do it again, but it was exactly what he was trying to do.

Frankly I think he was just trying to pull off a shot at the target anyway he could since no one else was close enough to the ball to get a shot off before the goalie had it. But if he pulls off a couple more of those in the future I'll be more than willing to admit that he's very adept at leaping heelkicks

Give me a break. Germany only tied 0:0 with Latvia whose population is like the one of a small German city. It's like my own soccer team playing against the national team. And Latvia even deserved at least 2 penalty kicks. Their No.9 was incredible, how he passed 4 German defenders, sweet.

Ballack was awesome again but I can't believe how much the German strikers suck. And it's only 2 years until the World Cup in Germany. Well, the only consolation is that Italy also plays pretty bad at the moment.
