You could buy new headphones that might sound better than your current 600's, but have to be in the same impedance range, You'd only need to buy a new amp for your 600's if your current amp isn't doing the job. So your best option IMO is to buy new headphones that sound better than your HD 600's, that are under 600 impedance. The only reason to buy a new amp/dac would be if you were unhappy with your current amp. While you might benefit from a better amp, the difference would be minimal and not worth the money.

I can't give you a definite answer on that one. Personally, I dont think that you need to spend lots of money on a DAC, but read this link and decide for yourself http://www.head-fi.org/t/446876/difference-in-chips-what-makes-a-good-dac-a-good-dac

Hi everyone I am pretty new  here can someone recommend a headphone tube amp for under$300. I only own solid state amps and want to purchase my first tube amp.

You might want to look at the Little Dot headphone amps. The do seem to have a good bit of following. And tube rolling discussions galore.

I have heard the MKII is pretty good. But to be honest I do not own any of them. All my headphone amps are made by Musical Paradise out of Canada. That was not an endorsement, just telling you.
